Fully Bio-Degradable Mulch Films
Biodegradable mulch films are new material that contains no plastic at all. The main materials are PLA (Polylactic Acid, or Polyactide) and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate). They can be degraded by microorganisms under natural environmental conditions. The polymer components are hydrolyzed, ionized or protonated by microorganismsdue to cell growth. The enzymes decompose water-soluble polymers into fragments, forming new small-molecule compounds and they finally decompose into C02 and H20.

Black Mulch Films
Black mulch film is the basic form of agricultural film, which is widely used for various crops and has a thickness of 8-50 microns. The thickness, composition and other properties are adjusted to different crops and climatic conditions.
Features of the black mulch film:
First, the retention capacity for fertilizer is strong. The soil covered with black mulching film, due to the stable change of soil temperature, organic matter is in a normal cycle state, the measurement shows that the soil grown under the black film cover plants in the soil total nitrogen, organic matter, available potassium, alkali hydrolytic nitrogen and other nutritional indicators are improved to different degrees than those covered with transparent film.
Second, the water retention capacity is good. According to the test, the water content at 5 cm depth after the black mulching film is 4-10% higher than the transparent film, regardless of whether it is two days after covering or 35 days after covering.
Third, prevention of negative effects. The light transmittance of the black mulch film is low and the heat radiation is low, so the daily temperature fluctuation of the covered soil may be small. According to experimental measurements, the soil temperature of the soil covered with black film is 1-3 °C lower than that with transparent film during the main growing season of plants. Due to the low heating range, the normal growth of plant roots is promoted, especially in tomatoes, beans, peppers and other vegetables that do not require high soil temperature.
Fourth, Increasing vegetable production. Since the soil temperature of the black mulch film is lower than that of the transparent film, both early yield and total yield may be higher after covering the black film than when covering the transparent film, especially for some crops that require low root growth, such as tomatoes, green beans, cowpeas, late-maturing watermelons, etc. The test has shown that the yield of tomatoes covered with black film increases significantly, up to 11.8%.

Fifth, weed growth is inhibited. After switching to black mulch film, weeds have difficulty growing due to insufficient light conditions. Measurements show that after covering the black film with 5% light transmission, there are almost no weeds left in the soil after one month. When covering with black mulch film with light transmittance of 10%, weeds grow in the soil, but they are weak and do not cause disasters.
Silver/Black Mulch Films

5. White/Black Mulch Films
